When considering physical therapy, direct access allows a consumer to get physical therapy care without a prescription from a doctor. However, when choosing a physical therapist, it is important to choose someone who is highly qualified. We have made it a requirement for our physical therapists to have more than just the state minimum qualifications.
If your insurance requires that you have a doctor referral, it is most helpful if you make your appointment with us first. We can recommend a physician or specialist before we continue treatment. We have trusted relationships with many providers and we may be able to get you an appointment sooner than you may be able to on your own.
Direct access is helpful because you can avoid long wait times at the doctor, experience better outcomes, get pain relief without medication or opiods, and it can reduce or remove the need for surgery.
If you are in pain or feel like you may benefit from physical therapy, give our office a call and we will be happy to provide you with an initial evaluation.
Direct access is not applicable to patients in federal or state funded programs, such as Medicare, Medicaid, or Tricare.
